Reading to Think

How a deliberate reading habit sharpens judgment and shapes the way we see the world.

We don’t read to collect facts. We read to borrow other minds — to think thoughts we couldn’t have reached alone.

A few principles

  • Read across disciplines. The best ideas come from connecting distant fields.
  • Reread the great books. A book that changed you at 18 says something different at 30.
  • Keep a commonplace. Write down what strikes you; the act of writing is where understanding forms.

Why it belongs here

Finance, technology, and energy are ultimately about people and ideas. Literature is where we practice understanding both.
